The collaborative
Learn what keeps ramps safe from others doing the same work. NOMIC is the Normal Operations Monitoring International Collaborative. Organisations that run NOMIC Ramp can choose to pool de-identified results, so they can compare their ramp with others as well as with the NOMIC reference data. Pooling and the benchmark come with Supported membership.
How pooling works
- Sharing is optional and decided by each organisation, with its workforce.
- The tool makes a share file with codes, turnaround type, the outcome answers and the observer's short comment about the load. It never includes notes, airport, bay, dates, observers or anything that identifies a person.
- Everyone uses the same core codes. Local codes are sent as the core code they sit under, so the data stays comparable.
- Benchmarks are pooled and de-identified: no organisation can be picked out.
Partners
Aviation industry bodies, aviation regulators and non-profit aviation organisations can apply to become NOMIC partners. Partners get all the materials (the tool, the full training pack, templates and coding guide).
Partners don't see any organisation's results or benchmark data. This is the same non-jeopardy promise the whole method rests on: observations are for learning, never for oversight or enforcement.
